Bullying is sucking the life out of kids. How can they do well on tests, when they are viciously verbally assaulted in the hallways? How can they concentrate on their assignments when they feel the backbreaking weight of peer-pressure? How will they pass their classes when they are AFRAID to attend them?
Mike makes students feel like HEROES.
“I’m still in awe. You really connect w young people, through humor and experience, and your complete confidence and your faith that what you say is life changing and true, it ropes your audience in, draws their attention like no other. When you spoke, I felt every word directed towards me personally. Your speaking is completely motivating. Its inspiring and earth shaking.” -high school student
Nearly two decades of direct work with teens as a mentor and coach is the factor that sets Mike in the top ranks of youth speakers today.
From the stage, Mike draws listeners in with spoken word poetry. Here’s one piece he usually shares:
By implementing strategies that he shares with his audience, Mike’s life went from ZERO TO HERO by his senior year. After years of being bullied, the lacrosse team voted him as captain and he was the star player. His confidence was at an all time high even before he was approached in the hall at school by a girl from the newspaper. 670 seniors had just voted Mike as the, “Person Most Likely to Change the World.”
Now as a father of two kids himself, he has a deep passion to see all young people live the life they’ve always wanted. A life with meaning. A life that matters. The life of a HERO.
Beyond Mike’s speaking, he also has written an incredible book like no other for teens. One 17 year old said it is,”The funnest book ever.” Jigsaw guides teens to understand their past, present and future self.
After living in Maryland, Virginia, Hawaii, California and New Jersey, he currently lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. Rutgers University is his alma mater.
